We welcome you to our site.
We are not a kennel or facility. We are in beautiful, mild, Oregon. We live in a ranch home on an acre outside of Albany Oregon and the dogs love the country. There is definitely less barking and more playing than when we lived in town! They get to run loose in the 1/2 acre every day or so, and a dog park has nothing on the fun they have all together. Watch out mice, rats and snakes when we let the dogs out to hunt the barn and fence lines!
All our Cairn Terriers living here are our pets and live with us, and some sleep in our bedroom, some in their private crate beds. Their puppies are born in a special cubby in the bedroom. They get a raw meat and veggie cubes as a bedtime doggy snack.
Cairn Terriers are energetic, intelligent, quick to learn, and extremely sensitive to their people. That's why our dogs have done well as Therapy Dogs, and companions for all ages. Our goal is to produce a fantastic companion animal suitable for people looking for a big dog in a little package! That's a Cairn Terrier!
Norma Rice had been Marma's Cairn Terriers - since 1971. We bought a cute puppy who became an AKC Champion Male, Marma's Max (see page -"more tab" for Champion Dog photos). He lived a long 18 years and was so instilled in our hearts, that we have never wanted to have another breed of dogs. Our standing joke about Cairn terriers is that they need to be drop-kicked off the back porch once a day! Not really drop-kicked, but can be played with roughly and they return that energy, activeness, and unconditional love back to us.

Our Champion Higgin's Checkov is still active at 10 years old! Our sturdy, smiley, pick-up riding dog has earned his AKC Championship in 2012 and still thinks he is a lap dog! Go figure! He has his own Facebook Page, for he and his offspring. He is a fun dog and his puppies carry his calm personality, rowdy fun, and cheerful smile! He also has semen stored in the bank to share with ladies a distance away.
We are active in our local Linn County Kennel Club as board members - an active club in Albany, Oregon where we host an AKC Sanctioned Show for 1200 dogs each February. And I served on a committee that opened a public dog park in the City of Albany in June, 2014 in Timberlinn Park.
